May was a busy month filled with lots of student outreaches, filming, and rehearsal shenanigans! Highlights of May included:
Starting our virtual workshops with music students across the nation of Kazakhstan
Workshopping and performing at the Highlands Voices A Cappella Festival
Participating and performing at the Greenwich A Cappella Festival in CT and Hopewell Valley Choral Day in NJ

Backtrack Launches A Cappella Bootcamp!
Backtrack Vocals is still accepting applications for our one-week immersive A Cappella Bootcamp in NJ! Campers will get the opportunity to perform LIVE in concert at a famous New York City venue, record studio vocals, and develop skills in beatboxing, arranging, & choreography. In addition to live performance, all campers will work together to create a fully produced a cappella music video - starring and directed entirely by them!

Backtrack in Kazakhstan!
The final preparations have begun! We'll be traveling to Kazakhstan in June 15 to run a week-long a cappella intensive camp with elite high school music students. The week culminates with a showcase event featuring 10 small group performances and one large group performance featuring "All I Know So Far" by P!nk as well as Kazakh Traditional, Koziminin Karasy.
We have finished our virtual sessions and selected the student groups that will be joining us live in-person for a week long a cappella intensive residency in Buraboy! We cannot wait to teach students to run their own groups and to help jump-start the a cappella community in Kazakhstan. In this camp, we will explore both the artistry and business aspects of running an a cappella group. The goal is that they can go back to their regions and continue to sing and spread song to their communities.
While in Kazakhstan, Backtrack will also perform at the nation's Go Viral Festival, as well as the U.S. Embassy’s U.S. Independence Day Celebration.
