April started on the tail end of our 6 week Allied Tour. We had such an amazing time in the Midwest, but we are always happy to come back to our home here in NYC!
Highlights of April included:
Performing our tour set at the Van Nostrand Theater on Long Island for all our friends and family back here in the city.
Workshopping and performing with Marlborough High School students both in their home town and here in NYC at Don't Tell Mama!
A live virtual performance on The Super Review Show featured on YouTube.
Outside of performing we have been busy with planning for the months ahead including more recording for our originals album, music video filming, our Kazakhstan trip, Backtrack's A Cappella Bootcamp, and more exciting things!

In May we plan to release our take on "It's Not All About You" by NYC band, Lawrence. This video will feature an arrangement and solo from our very own Chrissy Aloisio! Upcoming Performances in May
May is the month of festivals! We have a busy month coming up which includes performing at three a cappella festivals in addition to our educational outreaches. Here are some of our public performances:
May 6th we will be performing with the Highlands Voices Festival in Allentown, NJ.
May 12th we will be performing at Hopewell Valley Choral Day in Pennington, NJ
May 21st we will be performing with the Greenwich A Cappella Festival in Greenwich, CT

Backtrack Launches A Cappella Bootcamp!
Backtrack Vocals is still accepting applications for our one-week immersive A Cappella Boot Camp at Gateway to the Arts! Students will get the opportunity to perform in a LIVE concert in New York City, record studio vocals, learn beatboxing, arranging, choreography, and work with their peers to create a fully produced a cappella music video starring and directed entirely by them!

We're Going to Kazakhstan!
Backtrack is going international this summer! We'll be traveling to Kazakhstan in mid-June to run a week-long a cappella intensive camp with elite high school music students. The week culminates with a showcase event featuring 13 small group performances and one large group performance featuring "All I Know So Far" by P!nk as well as a Kazakh Traditional.
Leading up to our residency in Kazakhstan we will be hosting 4 Virtual Masterclasses with up to 20 of the top performing arts school in Kazakhstan to help jump-start the a cappella community in Kazakhstan, and teach students to run their own groups. We will explore both the artistry and business aspects of running an a cappella group. Thirteen of these groups will join Backtrack for their week long a cappella intensive residency so that they can go back to their regions and continue to sing and spread song to their communities. While in Kazakhstan, Backtrack will also perform at the nation's Go Viral Festival, as well as the U.S. Embassy’s U.S. Independence Day Celebration.
